macOS 14.2 or later.
The bars don’t move
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording and enable Spettro. If you previously declined permission, enable it there, then choose “Restart audio capture” in the app menu.
Nothing appears
Spettro has no Dock icon. Look in the menu bar at the top right, and start audio playback. You can hold Cmd and drag the analyzer to your desired position.
How do I change the look?
Click the display for Sensitivity, Display (dots/bars), Size, Slope, Peak hold, Refresh rate and Colors.
Does it record audio?
No. Audio is analysed in memory and discarded immediately. Nothing is saved to disk or sent over the network.

Spettro serve il permesso di leggere l’audio in uscita: Impostazioni di Sistema → Privacy e sicurezza → Registrazione schermo e audio di sistema. Colori, dimensione, sensibilità e pendenza si cambiano cliccando l’analizzatore nella barra dei menu.
